  • This specimen is a naturally occurring cluster of Pyrite crystals, also known as "Fool's Gold" due to its striking metallic luster and brassy-gold hue. Formed under high-pressure conditions deep within the Earth’s crust, this example showcases the classic cubic crystal structure characteristic of Pyrite.

The surface gleams with a mirror-like finish, and the sharply defined edges reflect the mineral’s internal symmetry, an example of the isometric crystal system. Often found in hydrothermal veins and sedimentary rock layers, Pyrite played a significant role in early scientific study and was historically used to ignite early firearms through sparking.

Recovered from mineral-rich deposits in Peru, the specimen is displayed on a bespoke wood stand, allowing for 360-degree viewing of its intricate geometry and natural brilliance. It offers both a geological curiosity and an aesthetic piece, embodying the fusion of natural history and sculptural form.

Base: Solid Smooth Grain European Oak
    Mount: Stainless Steel
    Specimen Dimensions: 300mm h x 200mm w
    Total Dimensions: 440mm h x 240mm w

  • Pyrite Gemstone (aka “fool’s gold”)

Known as “fool’s gold” due to the stone often being mistook for gold ore, the Pyrite Gemstone is an iron sulfide mineral with a metallic luster and brass-yellow colour.

The stone contains around 46.67% iron and 53.33% sulfur by weight. It can be found in metamorphic rocks and hydrothermal mineral deposists.

Pyrite can also contain small amounts of cobalt, nickel, silver, or even gold.

  • We are working hard to be a carbon neutral brand, by investing in planting trees to offset our carbon emissions and continuing to operate responsibly. We also package all of our products using 100% recyclable or reusable materials to reduce our environmental impact.

Both ourselves and our suppliers use recycled material through as much of the design & production process as possible. All of our card mounts and solid oak stands are FSC certified, meaning that the trees used are harvested responsibly and replaced to ensure no net loss of forest.

  • Each piece in our myriad collection comes with a loyalty sticker. Receive a free gift reward for every third item purchased, culminating in a captivating platinum statement piece, complimentary from Curated.
