  • This fossilised ammonite is preserved in limestone and dates to the Jurassic period, approximately 180 million years ago and has been displayed in museum quality glass dome bell jar.

The coiled shell, with its gently ribbed surface, is characteristic of extinct marine molluscs that once thrived in ancient seas. The surrounding limestone matrix captures fine details of the shell’s form, offering a natural snapshot of the sedimentary environment in which it was buried.

Recovered from a marine deposit in Europe, the specimen has been cleaned and stabilised, preserving both the ammonite and the rock that encased it for millions of years.

    Base: Solid Oak Wood
    Mount: Stainless Steel
    Dome: Handblown 2mm tempered glass
    Dimensions: 120x160mm

The picture shown is an example of the quality that you can expect to receive. Please be aware that, as these are natural products, they are subject to some variation.

  • Name: Polished Limestone Ammonite
    Age: 180 Million Years Old
    Location: Madagascar

This ammonite has been carefully cut and polished to reveal the internal chamber structure of its coiled shell. These chambers once regulated buoyancy, allowing the animal to move efficiently through ancient marine environments.

Fossilised in fine limestone, the shell has undergone natural mineralisation, with calcite and aragonite often filling the internal voids. The result is a beautifully preserved cross-section of prehistoric life, equal parts scientific specimen and decorative object, showcasing the enduring complexity of ancient marine evolution.

  • From entry level items to collector’s pieces, every artefact we offer is professionally verified for its provenance, legality and authenticity by our network of suppliers and palaeontologists. Each specimen is bundled with a certificate of authenticity, documenting the artefacts age and location of discovery.

  • Each Curated piece comes with a loyalty sticker. Receive a free gift reward for every third item purchased, culminating in a captivating platinum statement piece, complimentary from Curated.
